Evenflo, the popular baby gear manufacturer, has voluntarily recalled nearly 324,000 of their Revolve360 Slim car seats, as of October 1.

In certain Revolve360 Slim models, little ones may be able to reach the headrest cushion, pull out the foam inside, and put it in their mouths — creating a potential choking hazard.

The car seats are completely safe in terms of how they'll protect your baby in the car, says the company, stating in a press release, "this issue does not affect the safety or integrity of the car seat in the event of a crash at this time."[1]

Here's how to check if you have one of the recalled seats, plus what to do if the answer is yes.

Key Takeaways
  • Certain models of Evenflo's Revolve360 Slim car seats are being voluntarily recalled by Evenflo because a cushion could be a potential choking hazard.

  • While not all of the Revolve360 Slim models are being recalled, those with a model number that begins with 3681 are.

  • If you have one of these car seats, make sure it's registered on Evenflo's website or call 1-800-233-5921 to make sure it is.

  • All registered customers will automatically receive an easy-to-use repair kit by early November that will include tape to cover any exposed cushion areas.

Which Evenflo car seats are being recalled?

Not all Evenflo Revolve360 Slim models are being recalled, just the car seats sold in the U.S. and Canada with the model numbers beginning in 3681. You can find your car seat's model number by looking on the product label, which you'll find on the back of your car seat's shell (the outside protective part).

Simply rotate the car seat to the side-facing position, and you'll see a white label with the date of production, as well as the model number. If you're having trouble finding your car seat's model number, contact Evenflo's ParentLink Consumer Care team by calling 1-800-233-5921 or emailing  parentlink@evenflo.com so they can help you find it.

Evenflo has also posted a list of the models NOT affected by the recall since there are so many different versions of the car seat on the market right now. If you have one of these models of the Revolve360 Slim, your car seat is NOT impacted by this recall:

Not included in the recall:

  • Revolve360 Slim with model numbers beginning in CS2601 (these models have the Seat Release Lock located at the front of the base).
  • Revolve360 Slim models beginning in 3682 (these models have a new protective tape seal).
  • Original Revolve360 and Revolve360 Extend models (these models have a high back booster mode).

What to do if you have a recalled car seat

If you do have one of the car seats affected by the recall, make sure your car seat is registered with Evenflo here. The company will automatically send out repair kits by the beginning of November to all customers who have registered their car seats. The kits will have easy-to-follow instructions and a special tape seal you can put on any of the areas where foam might be accessible.

If you haven't already registered your child's seat (or you aren't totally sure), you can quickly check on their website or reach out to Evenflo's ParentLink Consumer Care team at 1-800-233-5921 (U.S.), 1-800-265-0749 (Canada), or parentlink@evenflo.com.

If the foam part of the head rest remains intact and your child can't get to it, you can continue to use your child's car seat. If the foam has become detached, stop using the car seat until you have repaired it using the kit.
