Quick Summary
What to Expect staff and the What to Expect community agree: POSHDIVAH maternity leggings are the best maternity leggings. Made of thick material, these supportive leggings are soft and super budget-friendly.
Over the course of my pregnancy, I tried my absolute best to make my non-maternity clothing items work with my growing belly. Because there’s such a short window to wear bump-hugging pieces, I didn’t want to spend too much on maternity clothing. But there was one major exception to my rule: I purchased multiple pairs of maternity leggings.
The best pregnancy leggings are supportive (without feeling too restrictive or tight), comfortable, soft, and extra stretchy. Some moms-to-be (myself included) prefer over-the-belly leggings, which have a panel covering your bump, while others feel better in under-the-bump styles. Maternity clothing hubs like Amazon, Old Navy, and Target make it easier to stock up on several options, but I can personally confirm there are a few luxury leggings that are well worth the investment, too. For example, throughout my second and third trimesters, I lived in comfy stretchy bottoms by brands What to Expect moms love, including Fabletics, Lululemon and Beyond Yoga. I’ve even worn them as part of my postpartum wardrobe.
I guarantee you’ll be thankful for having a few of the best maternity leggings in your closet as your little one grows! I know I was. (I also recommend stocking up on other comfy items, like maternity sweats and pajamas, too!)
How I Chose the Best Maternity Leggings
Because most of my regular leggings — aside from my trusty Lululemon Aligns, of course — already felt too tight and restrictive by the end of my first trimester, I tested out several styles of maternity leggings throughout my pregnancy. Finding a favorite pair that actually grows with you is no small feat. Here’s how I tested and chose the best maternity leggings:
Daily comfort: Each pair was worn during all sorts of everyday activities — from long walks and Pilates classes to Orangetheory workouts — to see which ones stayed supportive, soft, and breathable.
Lounge-approved: I also lived in these leggings for cozy nights at home, including more than a few Real Housewives marathons. Comfort during couch time definitely counted.
Durability: I washed and rewore each pair multiple times to make sure the fabric held its shape, stretch, and color after countless laundry days.
Community feedback: I read through countless reviews from the Community to see which leggings real moms actually loved (and lived in).
Team-tested additions: I gathered tried-and-true picks from editors and staffers who’ve been there — and who know what holds up through every trimester (and beyond).
Postpartum longevity: I kept wearing many of these leggings well after my little one arrived, proof that the best pairs really do go the distance.
The result? A list of 20 top-rated maternity leggings that moms swear by for their comfort, versatility, and stretch from Amazon, Fabletics, and Beyond Yoga. Trust me, you’ll be grateful to have a few of these in your closet as your bump (and baby) grow.

If there’s one affordable pair of leggings mentioned over and over again in the What to Expect community, it’s the POSHDIVAH Maternity Workout Leggings. Available on Amazon, these leggings have a little bit of everything: a comfy over-the-belly panel, side pockets for storing essentials like your phone and car keys, and a material that isn’t see-through. One mom even shared that she stocked up and rotated through five pairs throughout her pregnancy. As a bonus, you’ll be able to purchase two for less than $50 (roughly $24 a pair).
All of this said, some moms did share that they were thicker than expected and not the highest quality when compared to other maternity leggings but for the price, you can't beat them.
Tested by Karla Martin, mom of one and What to Expect’s Senior Photo Manager:
"I lived in POSHDIVAH! I loved them because, despite the price point, these leggings feel high quality. Buttery soft and the perfect fit, I was shocked by how well these grew with me throughout my pregnancy. I own a couple of pairs that I still wear now, 1 year postpartum."
"Just bought these from Amazon. I think they will be more comfortable in the second trimester as the bump gets larger. Right now I’m a little too small for them and have to pull them up quite a bit …"
Best Luxury Maternity Leggings You Can Wear Postpartum
It might seem odd that a pair of leggings not specifically designed for pregnancy is at the top of our list, but that's just how good these Lululemon Aligns are.
Lululemon leggings feature everything you'd want out of pre- and post-pregnancy leggings. The high-rise waistband provides plenty of stretch and support for your baby bump until delivery day, but retains its shape so you can wear them postpartum, too). Although its price tag is undoubtedly higher than some of its competitors, moms promise it’s worth it. The weightless material is incredibly soft (one parent described it as "butter on skin"), and at the same time, super high-quality — these will withstand the toughest of laundry machines and provide years of use. That being said, they’ll last even longer if you wash them on the coldest setting and hang them to dry.
Though some moms go up a size for pregnancy, many moms recommend ordering your regular size when it comes to Lululemon leggings for maternity, so take a look at the size chart to see what may be best for you (and know that Lulu has free returns in case you end up wanting a different size!).
For instance, I wore my old pair of Aligns and they worked throughout my pregnancy and held up during those first few months of postpartum too. So although they’re pricier than most, they’re easily the most luxurious maternity leggings on the market. Plus, I can attest that you’ll likely be able to wear them for years to come, and long after you’ve welcomed your little one. (In fact, I’m wearing them as I write this!)
Tested by Christine Mattheis, mom of two and What to Expect’s Group VP of Content & Brand Solutions:
"I was wearing Lululemon Aligns almost exclusively during both of my pregnancies. They're expensive but worth every dollar. They are the only leggings that stay up on me. They are super soft and stretchy, and even when I was approaching my third trimester, I was still in the same size I was pre-pregnancy."
After reading lots of recommendations for Lululemon Align leggings, I decided to try them on in store. I was skeptical that they could really be stretchy enough to wear during pregnancy like everyone says (they are not maternity leggings), but when I tried them on they were so stretchy and comfortable! I immediately bought a pair. I’ve since bought another. I wouldn’t normally spend so much on leggings, but being able to wear them both during and after pregnancy added a lot of value to me.
"I wore aligns my entire pregnancy. I sized up one size and it was perfect. I wore them from early on in the pregnancy until I gave birth and I’m still wearing them over a year after my daughter was born! Can’t go wrong with them!"
"I went a size up so they will be comfortable my whole pregnancy. I was skeptical about these leggings but my sister in law wouldn’t stop raving and now I’m a believer. They are so incredibly comfortable, like butter lol. Hope you enjoy them too!!"
"Love my aligns! I wear a size 4 when not pregnant and they continued to fit me my entire first pregnancy. I eventually wore them below the bump towards the end."
If slipping into these leggings feels like wrapping your bump in a buttery-soft cloud — that’s because it kind of is. Made from a luxe nylon and Lycra blend that moms compare to Aligns, Happy.angel maternity leggings have a sleek, high-end look and an ultra-smooth feel that’s equal parts cozy and elevated. Many Community members share they wear these every day.
The four-way stretch fabric flexes beautifully with your growing bump, while offering just the right touch of light compression — enough to feel gently supported, never squeezed. The full-panel waistband is designed with comfort in mind: soft and flexible across the front for belly expansion, and more structured in the back for support that doesn’t dig or roll (even during third-trimester squats or stroller walks). Breathable, moisture-wicking, and truly squat-proof, these leggings are a favorite for everything from prenatal yoga to lounging at home. And because they don’t look overtly “maternity,” they’ll fit right in with your postpartum wardrobe, too. And did I mention they won't run you more than $29 and are often on sale at Amazon?
Tested by Liz Buxton, mom of one and What to Expect's Shopping Director:
“This was the only pair of maternity leggings I bought...Because I refused to spend money on clothes I’d only wear for three months. But by the time I hit the third tri, my regular leggings could not longer cut it. These actually fit, didn’t feel suffocating (even in summer), and cost less than my Friday night Seamless order. Shockingly wearable for someone who hates tight clothes!”
"I'm not sure about the leg length since I'm short and have the opposite problem but I LOVE these. I wear them every day and am asking for more for Christmas."
Because they’re made of mostly modal jersey material, the Storq Signature Leggings are some of the softest — and therefore, most comfortable — leggings you’ll find. What adds to the comfort level is the adjustable belly panel, which can be worn over or under your bump, which means you can wear these leggings through all three trimesters, plus the postpartum period and beyond. (Which is a relief, since you’ll probably want to live in these incredibly cozy leggings beyond pregnancy.) Also good: The brand promises they’re comfortable enough to be C-section friendly. Just note that they’re designed more for lounging or working from home rather than breaking a sweat.
Tested by Kate Monahan, Director of Data Operations at What to Expect:
"These splurgy leggings are worth the price. They’re so soft, and lint doesn’t stick to them. Plus, they didn’t slide down my belly."
"I purchased the signature Storq leggings during Black Friday and they are super comfortable! I highly recommend them for mamas looking for new leggings. They are a little thin so it may be best for indoor lounging around the house during winter months. I'm only 5 ft 1, and they are a little longer near my ankles but I'm not fussed by it!"
"They are a bit pricey but i LOVE my storq leggings i got last time. I still kept wearing them even after my baby was born and they seem like they will last through this pregnancy too. The reason I love them so much is that they are actually made of a breathable material and I was pregnant all summer last time."
For a pair of buttery-soft maternity leggings that won’t break the bank, look to these Buttergene leggings. They feature an over-the-belly panel that has a unique adjustable elastic band that you can modify to best fit your growing bump throughout the trimesters. Moms love the super-soft material and say they’ve used them for a variety of activities, including working out and going out. Many also claim that although the material is on the thinner side, these leggings aren’t see-through, which is a huge plus at this low price point. One thing to keep in mind is that the adjustable strap may stick out if you have it on a smaller setting.
“Amazon 'buttergene' maternity leggings had an adjustable waist to grow with me, felt comfy, and were sold in affordable multipacks! Great for pairing with Tshirt dresses.”
“I bought the buttergene ones off Amazon! they are so very soft and have a little waistband adjuster for when you're smaller so there is room to grow!”
“I grabbed some Buttergene brand over the belly maternity leggings. they're soft, comfy, and the over the belly part isn't noticeable when not pregnant.”
"I just wanted to share that I got a 2-pack of maternity leggings on Amazon for only $23 and they are sooo super soft, comfy and not see through at all. They have multiple colors and 3-packs available as well."
"I got these from Amazon and LOVE them! As much as I love aligns, they’re just too restrictive for me, maybe I’m more sensitive than others when it comes to clothes being tight on my belly. But these are amazing!"

The overwhelming majority of plus-size moms-to-be are obsessed with everything Torrid makes, but their maternity leggings are particularly popular. Not only are they available in sizes 00 (M or 10) to 6 (6X or 30), but they’re also designed with shirred sides to grow with your bump throughout (and after) pregnancy.
Plus, with a surprisingly budget-friendly price of $40, they are also frequently marked down — but make sure to act fast whenever they go on sale. The only knock some moms had about these leggings were that they often sell out.

Shorter moms who typically wear petite clothing often find that there are fewer options for maternity leggings. Many in the What to Expect community recommend seeking out styles that are cropped or listed as “7/8,” because they’ll likely appear full-length for petite moms-to-be. But these Motherhood Maternity leggings are a favorite overall because they have an even shorter inseam (22.5 inches) than Lululemon’s Cropped Aligns. Some moms say they’re a little more sheer than they expected, but the cotton and spandex material is comfortable and stretchy. Plus, many find that the quality is pretty good for the low price (two pairs for less than $40 and currently on sale for just $20!).
"I am petite and love the 'cropped' maternity leggings from motherhood maternity.com they have regular length too. My only complaint is they only offer black and grey, sometimes navy. They always have sales also."
Best Maternity Leggings for Back and Belly Support
Another top-recommended brand from our community of parents and parents-to-be? Blanqi. It’s easy to see why the store gets a lot of love for its leggings. Their best-selling Maternity Belly Support Leggings provide ample support in the places you need it most. With a built-in belly support band, X-shaped back support and graduated compression, these leggings are all about alleviating discomfort just where you need it the most. But that’s not all these leggings bring to the table: They wick away moisture, are plenty soft, and come in an aesthetic opaque finish for a stylish look. Plus, an expandable belly panel helps you stay comfy throughout all three trimesters. What to Expect moms claim they lived in these throughout pregnancy and beyond, making them a great pick for feeling supported no matter what you’re doing throughout the day.
"I have one pair of Blanqi (I’m usually a size S in leggings from Athleta/lulu) in a M and they are comfortable and really flattering! … I like the Blanqi ones so much I ordered a second pair today and they were on sale. :)"
"I love my Blanqi leggings! They aren’t sheer, grow with you the whole pregnancy, and are the only ones I’ve tried that don’t fall/roll down or sag in the crotch. They don’t become sheer or thin after multiple washings. I also loved their postpartum support leggings."
Best Maternity Workout Leggings for High-Impact Workouts
Looking for a pair of maternity leggings designed for working out (or simply staying comfortable no matter the activity)? Look no further than this moisture-wicking pair from Fabletics. The high-waisted band offers plenty of support while you’re getting active, and the polyester-elastane blend (the brand’s softest fabric ever that's also anti-chafing) helps you move with ease. They do an excellent job at staying up without feeling overly compressive or constricting on your bump. But my favorite part: You can snag two pairs for $24 when you sign up for the brand’s exclusive VIP Program (which is super easy to quit, in my experience, if you find you don’t like it). Add a maternity activewear tank and comfy running sneakers to complete your athleisure ensemble, stat.
This was my tried-and-true pair whenever I wanted extra compression and comfort, even during the most grueling Orangetheory class. They worked well on walks, too, because I could hold onto my phone and keys without needing a fanny pack or having my hands full. I loved wearing them postpartum as well, since they offered plenty of support and just the right amount of compression. Even after more than a year of wear and washes, they look the exact same (read: no pilling or fading in sight!).
"I LOVE them!! Wore them during and after my first pregnancy… just ordered some maternity shorts for this pregnancy, and love them too. Highly recommend :)"
"PSA Fabletics makes the best maternity leggings … They’re buttery soft, comfy and flattering to the bump!! Just found out about them and wanted to share the info if anyone is looking for a pair"
Best Maternity Yoga Leggings for Flow and Flexibility
Going to a prenatal yoga session? These Beyond Yoga maternity leggings will keep you comfy while you move and meditate. They fit over your bump and are made of four-way stretch material that provides just the right amount of support for your yoga session without feeling constricting. For an added bonus, the fabric is also moisture-wicking, so you can stay dry and sweat-free while holding Warrior II. Even better, this brand is widely approved by yogi parents-to-be in the What to Expect community, so you know that you’re in for a good buy.
I typically rotated between the Fabletics leggings, Aligns and this pair, which were particularly great for the warmer summer months because of their cropped length and lightweight feel. I loved them so much that I even splurged on the maternity biker shorts version, too.
Beyond Yoga! They have the compression of great yoga pants with all the maternity room you need plus they’re super soft and they don’t pill! Completely worth the investment!
"I ordered a few of the beyond yoga maternity leggings and love them. They are a bit pricier but I’ve worn them literally everyday so totally worth it to me"
For compression leggings that provide support without squeezing your belly too much to the point of discomfort, these buttery-soft Old Navy maternity leggings are a great solution. The light compression is notably comfortable as many moms pointed out, providing plenty of stretch while still holding them in. With a full-panel waistband, the elastic material will hug your bump without sliding down whether you’re working out or lounging at home. And, they’re made with moisture-wicking fabric for those looking to wear them while breaking a sweat. Last but not least, these leggings have pockets for storing small items like your phone or keys.
"I still wear my old navy maternity leggings at 16.5 months postpartum lol they have taller sizes too if you order online! I think mine were called “power chill” or something like that. They are super super soft and not see through at all!"
"the old navy leggings are like 50 bucks, they STAY UP all day with moving, no readjusting after a squat or bend, etc, they arent too tight on top and the extra high rise fits over my bump. they also work after pregnancy although i would usually just order the high rise, not the extra high. the high rise works just fine for my pregnancy but i prefer extra high rise."
Nicknamed the "best Align dupes" by several moms in the What to Expect community, these $32 leggings are the best-selling maternity activewear item on Amazon. Backed by more than 1,000 five-star reviews, most say the brand’s stretchy and comfy Butterluxe material is surprisingly similar — in both quality and appearance — to the Aligns. There were, however, a few comments noting that they rolled down every once in a while, making them a better fit for lower-impact activities like yoga.
In addition to these over-the-bump leggings, the brand also makes biker shorts, dresses, and tops with their signature Butterluxe material.
Flared leggings have made a comeback (thanks, Gen Z!), which means you may be on the hunt for a trendy pair to add to your maternity wardrobe. These pants from Amazon’s CRZ YOGA (a top-rated brand among moms-to-be for its Lululemon-level softness) features a full panel that will comfortably cover your bump while simultaneously providing some light compression. The flared style also means that you may be able to get away with dressing these pants up (think: a button down or chunky sweater) for date night or work. But our favorite feature? These flared leggings have front pockets, too.
"Not only are they affordable ($20-something to $32 a pair), they also have biker shorts of different lengths, capri-length leggings, yoga pants flares, and leggings with POCKETS, so truly something for everyone. My husband said they pass the squat test and they are SOFT and comfy."
These capris are everything moms love about overall pick — the POSHDIVAH maternity leggings — just in a calf-length, cropped version. The four-way stretch from the polyester-spandex blend is designed to accommodate your growing bump, and two side pockets are deep enough to hold a small wallet or large phone.
Similar to the brand’s classic leggings, you can also purchase these in packs of two for $50 or one for $25. It’s worth noting, however, that some moms complained about these sliding down while out walking.
Prefer under-the-bump leggings rather than a pair that goes over your belly? Consider this pair from What to Expect community-favorite, Motherhood Maternity. The criss-cross elastic waistband in the front helps cradle your belly while giving plenty of room for your bump to grow. You also get two leggings in a single pack. Just know that some reviewers say the fabric is a bit thin, so you may want to wear this pair with a tunic or longer sweater.
It’s aggravating how many maternity jeans, leggings and dresses don’t have a place to tuck away your phone or credit card, especially for times with a more sculpted fit. Fortunately, these Gap maternity leggings have two patch pockets on the sides. Moms find that they’re big enough to store your valuables, including your phone in one pocket and credit card in the other. The placement of the pockets is perfect — they’re low enough to not have to hike your shirt up to access them.
Not only do many moms find the wide, full-panel waistband comfortable without pressing too much on their stomachs, but they also love that the material doesn't roll down while on the move. This is true for several of Gap's other equally stylish offerings. You can also scoop up a pair of faux leather leggings (which moms say are great for days they need to dress up).
For maternity wear I like gap maternity leggings. They are comfortable, thick enough, and have a waist band that isn't annoying. I have wen them through most of my pregnancies. And they run true to size
Best Fleece-Lined Maternity Leggings for Cold Weather
If you live somewhere that gets particularly chilly, these POSHDIVAH fleece maternity leggings will keep you warm and cozy. They’re stretchy and soft for ultimate comfort, and they’re lined with warm fleece so you can easily wear them just about anywhere in the winter. Many moms say that these leggings are squat-proof, so you can rest assured knowing that they aren’t see-through. Although the band is a bit thicker because of the fleece, moms say that it’s still comfortable and stretchy enough for a growing bump. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that some say it runs small, so you might want to size up.
“I have the leggings with the little side pockets and I love them. I got a regular pair and a fleece lined pair and I’ve been living in the fleece ones the last week!”
“I was going to recommend those- for the price they are pretty solid. I have a pair of blanqi and Zella ones, and some aligns, but the posh divas are more comfortable.”
"I got these off Amazon for a hiking trip earlier this month. They’re not as thick as the fleece lined leggings I wore prior to pregnancy. I wore them outside in mid 30-40 degree weather, snowing at times, and felt like they were warm and I stayed comfortable the whole time."
These cozy leggings strike the perfect balance between cozy and breathable — a rare combo when you’re dressing for winter pregnancy life. The silky-soft outer fabric smooths and supports, while the soft fleece lining keeps you comfortably warm (not overheated). The stretchy Lycra blend rebounds beautifully, so no sagging or sliding, even after hours of wear. And yes, there are pockets — deep enough for your phone, lip balm, and maybe a snack or two. Whether you’re layering under a long sweater for a snowshoe adventure or lounging through a snow day, the G4Free Barefeel panel stretches with your bump for a just-right fit all season long.
But here's what really makes them stand out: they're available in both tall and petite inseams, and a wide-range of sizes from XS to XXL, rare for an affordable pair of leggings from Amazon.
Available in both a capri and full length (great for tall and petite moms)
40+ color and pattern choices
Waistband can be rolled over
Cons
Some moms thought they were a bit thin
Material: Polyester, spandex
Sizes available: S-3XL

If the idea of a tight waistband around your midsection sounds more uncomfortable than supportive, consider Leggings Depot’s over-the-belly style, featuring a ruched top that stretches as your belly grows. Jeanne Beacom, What to Expect’s Senior Campaign Manager, and mom of two, lived in these during her second pregnancy. While she loves that they come in a range of colors and funky patterns — 44, to be exact! — she had just three neutrals on constant rotation (gray, black and navy). She also appreciated the lightweight, breathable fabric. Other moms describe it as super stretchy and soft but not compressive at all, ideal for casual wear and lounging at home.
I ordered leggings from leggings depot on Amazon. They have rouching on the sides. They are buttery soft and are not see through. I really enjoy them so far. However I can’t seem to find tops for a decent price/quality.
Some moms found it doesn’t fit well on larger chests

Strictly speaking, this isn’t technically a pair of leggings, but What to Expect moms love it all the same. I’m also a big fan of Skims — the stretchy fabric the brand is known for makes a lot of their non-maternity options bump-friendly, especially if you’re on the lookout for a long-lasting maternity dress. But this jumpsuit is designed with moms-to-be in mind. It’s double-lined with a buttery-soft polyamide fabric that’s equal parts stretchy and supportive; there’s also an opening in the crotch to accommodate frequent bathroom breaks. Multiple moms note it’s a splurge worth making. The only downside? It only comes in one color (Onyx).
“I love it! It’s so comfortable it makes my stomach feel supported, without feeling tight or like it’s holding it in, in a way that could hurt baby. However, it does feel like it’s holding in and supporting my bump if that makes any sense lol. Like I figured I will definitely wear this at home and will probably actually order another one just to lounge around in bc it’s really comfortable.”
“Just wanted to update that I just got mine in the mail today and I’m OBSESSED! It’s seriously so comfortable and makes you feel supported without feeling suffocated. If you’re on the edge about buying it, just do it.”
What to Look for in Maternity Leggings
Based on my own experience wearing leggings while pregnant and that of moms in the What to Expect community, these are the most important factors to consider when buying maternity leggings:
Support: Your bump gets bigger over time, and you’ll want a pair of maternity leggings that’ll hug and lift your belly without feeling too restrictive. Many maternity leggings come with a belly band to support your bump without pressing too much on your stomach, or you could opt for an under-the-belly option if that feels more comfortable. Consider what kind of support you’re looking for before buying.
Stretch: There are various levels of stretch when it comes to any pair of leggings, and maternity leggings are no exception. Some pregnant people may prefer a compression style of leggings for extra support while moving (especially if you plan on wearing them while working out). Others may prioritize comfort and stretch over compression, especially if they plan to wear their leggings while lounging. In general, maternity leggings should feel supportive, but never too tight or restricting. Wearing clothing that’s too tight during pregnancy is not only uncomfortable, but it can also cause issues like poor blood circulation and yeast infections. You’ll want to make sure your leggings have plenty of stretch, especially if you want to wear them throughout your pregnancy.
Comfort: Look for materials like cotton or polyester that are designed to allow more air to flow or fabric that is moisture-wicking for exercising, walking or just avoiding feeling sweaty during your day-to-day life. Other materials, like nylon, are made to feel buttery-soft to the touch, which some find more comfortable. You’ll also want them to fit well throughout your pregnancy, meaning they’ll grow with your bump. Seek out styles that won’t sag and hold up well, even after lots of wear and washes.
Sizing: The right size can also impact how comfortable maternity leggings feel. Some moms will opt to size up for a more forgiving fit (typically around the mid-to-late stages of pregnancy), whereas others have success in sticking to their pre-pregnancy size. Consulting a brand’s size chart or our handy guide may be helpful in determining what you order. Luckily, nearly all of the brands I recommend offer decent return policies.
Versatility: From pregnancy to postpartum, it’s more than understandable that you’ll start to live in your maternity leggings. So, you’ll want to find pairs that will go with everything from your workout tops to blouses you’d wear to work. Depending on your lifestyle, you may want to designate some pairs for workouts and others for everyday wear.
FAQs
Do maternity leggings go over or under the bump?
There are two main types of maternity leggings available: over-the-bump and under-the-bump leggings. Over-the-bump leggings feature a stretchy full-belly panel that's big enough to cover your entire bump. Many moms-to-be prefer this style in the third trimester when they need a little extra support.
Under-the-bump maternity leggings, on the other hand, are those without a belly panel and are designed to sit under your bump. The waistband is stretchy enough to expand with your growing belly. Although they typically offer less support, some moms find it more comfortable to not have the belly panel covering their bump. The downside here, however, is that you’ll find fewer under-the-belly leggings available.
Which leggings are best during pregnancy?
In most cases, you’ll want to purchase leggings specifically designed for pregnancy (and postpartum, if possible). These are made with extra stretch thanks to spandex, which will allow them to expand as your bump gets bigger. Of course, the Lululemon Aligns are an exception to this rule: Many moms have deemed them the ultimate non-maternity maternity legging for how comfortable and durable they are.
What is the best material for maternity leggings?
The best materials are cotton or polyester, which tend to be more breathable and moisture-wicking. Spandex will also provide necessary stretch, and materials like nylon can offer a softer feel.
Should I size up in maternity leggings?
Every mom-to-be’s body is different, so some will want to size up, while others can stick with their standard sizing. Make sure to check reviews and each brand’s specific recommendations. To err on the side of caution, you can size up, or order two pairs: your regular size and one size up. From there, you can either return the one that doesn’t fit as well or save the bigger size to wear later on in your pregnancy.
