When it comes to the most highly anticipated sales of the year, Amazon Prime Day gets plenty of hype. But its fall iteration — October Prime Big Deal Days — is just as buzz-worthy.

If you're feeling a little shopped out after the month-long September Baby Sale, however, you're not alone. Even I feel like I need a nap after scrolling through deal after deal (after deal). But as a shopping editor with over five years of sales-scouting experience, I can say with confidence that every Amazon promo is worth at least a peek.

When are Amazon Prime Big Deal Days happening?

Amazon officially confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days will take place on October 7 and 8, 2025.

Earlier this summer, the annual event stretched into a four-day shopping spree (a procrastinator’s dream). This time around, however, the sale is back to its original short-and-sweet format: just 48 hours to save on pregnancy and parenting essentials.

If I'm being honest, July's Prime Day was a bit underwhelming. While I spotted some wins — like 20% off Tubby Todd's rarely-on-sale All Over Ointment and 30% off bulk packs of WaterWipes — many discounts didn't feel, well, very deep. Car seats and strollers hovered around the usual 20% off mark, but waiting for lightning deals offered the greatest opportunity to snag products (namely maternity leggings and PJs) closer to 50% off.

That said, October Prime Big Deal Days is typically the perfect opportunity to get a head start on holiday shopping. In past years, I've noted massive markdowns on popular toys by Melissa & Doug, Ms. Rachel, Tonies, Nuby, and more. So be sure to put that one in your back pocket.

Do I need a Prime membership to shop?

For full access (and the incredible convenience of two-day shipping), a Prime membership is indeed required. Luckily, signing up is simple: Navigate to amazon.com/prime and click “Create Account.”

A membership will run you either $15 per month or $139 for the entire year. I’d argue that’s a small price to pay if you shop Amazon frequently — or just want to score some Prime Day deals. Aside from baby stuff, the annual sale is an ideal time to grab everything from household cleaning gadgets and smart devices (especially those by Amazon, such as the Echo and Kindle) to beauty and skincare at a decent price. Trendy brands like Tarte and Charlotte Tilbury are now available at Amazon, and you better believe I'll be keeping an eye out for price drops on Olaplex, Rio de Janeiro, and Laneige...

One caveat: Membership benefits are changing. The Prime Invitee Program, which allowed the account holder to extend their membership perks to those living outside of the primary residence, is ending on October 1, 2025. Similar to what Netflix did not too long ago, if you've been benefiting from a friend or family in a different city (or even down the road), you'll have to sign up for your own membership to get free shipping and access to deals.

However, if you don't want to do that (or you're Amazon-averse and simply prefer to shop elsewhere), don't worry. Keep an eye out for alternative sales happening at other competing retailers. Target, Nordstrom, and Walmart all typically host sales around the same time, so you should have options.

Can I double-dip with my registry completion discount?

Unfortunately, no. If you've signed up for an Amazon baby registry, your 15% off completion discount can't be added on. But's a great benchmark to suss out if a deal is worth jumping on or not. For example:

  • If a stroller is 12% off during Prime Day, it makes sense to hold off and use your 15% registry discount later.
  • If a car seat is marked down 25%, that’s likely the best price you’ll see — so grab it while you can.

10 early Prime Day deals worth checking out now

Can't wait until October for Amazon baby bargains? Good news: there are already a few early deals worth checking out while the September Baby Sale continues. (And, TBH, there’s always some sort of discount waiting to be discovered at the mass retailer). While I’m anticipating the biggest savings to roll out closer to (and during!) the two-day event, you don’t want to have to wait to shop if you don’t want to. These early Prime Day baby deals prove it:
