If you bought a Graco car seat this year, go double-check its label right away. Graco just recalled a number of SnugRide Turn & Slide rotating car seats.[1] These car seats — sold on Amazon, Walmart, Target, Babylist, and GracoBaby.com from January 2026 to March 2026 — have "structural defects," per Graco.
Graco has not provided any additional information at this time about what the structural defect is, but did say that the issue came up in a post-production laboratory test.
It might feel frustrating to find out that a car seat you just bought isn't safe, but Graco will send a free replacement if yours is part of the recall. Here's how to know if your seat is affected and how to get a new one if it is.
How to know if your Graco car seat is recalled
Graco is recalling certain SnugRide Turn & Slide rotating car seats sold online in the past three months:
- SnugRide Turn & Slide Rotating Infant Car Seat model numbers 2231809 (Noir/Black), 2231887 (Sandstone/Tan), 2231806 (Mulberry/Girl-Plum), 2231885 (Sandstone/Tan), 2231881 (Noir/Black), 2231884 (Noir/Black)
- SnugRide Turn & Slide Rotating Infant Car Seat Base model number 2231810 (Black)
- Modes Nest Travel System with SnugRide Turn & Slide ICS model number 2243083 (Black)
The car seat base included with these specific models has a structural defect that makes it unsafe to use.
You can find the model number of your car seat by looking at the product label on the base. Then enter the number on the Graco website and confirm whether it's part of the recall.
If you own the travel system, the stroller is not affected. Other Graco rotating car seats — including the EasyTurn and Turn2Me — are also not affected.
What to do if your Graco car seat is recalled
If your car seat is in the recall, the first thing you should do is stop using the base. The good news: You can safely install your car seat without the base by following the product instructions in the manual. In the meantime, here's how to get your replacement:
- Take a picture of the white label on the base. Make sure you get the model number, date of manufacture, and serial number in the photo.
- Complete the registration form on the Graco website. You'll enter some information (your name, email address, phone number, address, and car seat label information) and upload the photo.
- Select your free replacement. You can choose from two different SnugRide infant car seats or two different rotating toddler seats.
- Throw away the affected base. Just wait until you get confirmation from Graco that your product is included in the recall. Don't return the recalled base to the store.
If you have questions about the recalls, you can get in touch with Graco consumer service by calling 1-800-345-4109 or using the chat function on the website.
