Best laid plans? Best to leave it to the Universe

All the way over the excitement had been building! It was really happening and in just a few short hours we would be with our friends and adventuring! We landed that Saturday night and quickly cleared the entry formalities! We exited the hall and was shortly greeted by Dani as Marius circled the airport!! We made it!

Our plan was to take their beloved Land Cruiser. We had rented a 4×4 trailer – Wildebeest with a tent on top, a freezer/frig on board along with batteries, solar panels, two burner stove and more! When we arrived, Marius shared the news that the plans had changed. The Land Cruiser had an issue with the gear box and was in the shop. We all agreed that the vehicle must be perfect for us to go!

Unfortunately, Tuesday was a holiday – Women’s Day and most businesses were enjoying a 4 day weekend, taking Monday off as well. That meant that shop wouldn’t be able to continue to resolve the issues until Wednesday of that week. But, never fear! Dani and Marius have a home in a private game reserve! We would spend the night in Pretoria, get to see Dani’s Mom, and then head for the reserve in the morning and stay until the vehicle was fixed!

This turned out to be the perfect plan! Both John and I needed to get on the time and to just bask in the love of being together as a foursome again! What better place than at their 2nd home? Oh and by the way – it’s not just any home! They own their own game viewer and we were able to go on game drives for as long as we wanted and whatever times we wanted!
